Sweet, carefree, and loving, Kaylee develops positive relationships with her crewmates as well as the ship itself. Her knowledge of the ship’s workings are often far more advanced than the other crewmembers, and she takes insults to Serenity very personally (“Fireflywiki.org”). The way in which she talks about the ship makes it seem more understandable and less futuristic to the viewers (“Fireflywiki.org”).
